Lalon Shah was born in 1774. He was a Bengali Baul saint, Mystic songwriter, social reformer and thinker though he was raised in a poor family. In Bengali culture, he has become an icon of religious tolerance whose songs inspired and influenced many poets and social and religious thinkers including Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam. He rejected all distinctions of caste and creed.

He was both praised and criticized in his lifetime his death. His disciples mostly live in Bangladesh and West Bengal. He founded the institute Known as Lalon Academy in Cheuriya, about 2 Km. From kushtia railway station. He is also regarded as the founder of Baul music. He died in 1890.

Hason Raja was born in 1854 in a rich family in Sylhet. He was a Chittagonian Poet, mystic philosopher and folksong writer, and composer.

He gained international recognition a few years after his death, when Nobel Prize laureate, poet Rabindranath Tagore mentioned him in his lectures at Oxford University.


Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose was born 30 November 1858. He was a Bengali polymath, physicist, biologist, botanist, and archaeologist, as well he as an early writer of science fiction.

He pioneered the investigation of Radio and microwave optics, made very significant contributions to plant science, and laid the foundations of experimental science in the Indian subcontinent. IEEE named him one of the fathers of radio science. He is also considered the father of Bangla science fiction. He died on 23 November 1937.
